In fall 2024 Dr. Kateryna Lokes, Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Poltava State Medical University, completed a one-month fellowship at the University of New Haven (Connecticut, USA). Since then, the partnership between the two universities continues to grow. As part of this collaboration, Marie R. Paulis, Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at UNH, was invited to participate in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference on oral and maxillofacial surgery. Her presentation, titled “Teaching Local Anesthesia to Dental Hygiene Students,” provided an in-depth exploration of instructional strategies and best practices in dental education, and it attracted considerable attention from conference participants, prompting active discussion and professional interest.
