URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, NOVEMBER, 2025 – The University of Illinois (UIUC) recently hosted Professor Oleksandr Kovrov from Dnipro University of Technology as part of the BridgeUSA Ukraine Program for Resilience and Reconstruction. A specialist in environmental technologies, Professor Kovrov spent his fellowship working with the College of ACES to address Ukraine’s urgent environmental crises, including soil degradation and contamination caused by warfare. His research highlights innovative solutions, such as phytoremediation and vermiculture-based land reclamation. This visit marks a significant step in a long-term action plan for joint research and grant partnerships aimed at Ukraine’s post-war ecological reconstruction.
