TALLAHASSEE, OCTOBER 2025
Dr. Kostyantyn Mezentsev, Head of Economic and Social Geography at Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (KNU), spent a month at FSU as a BridgeUSA Ukraine fellow. His research focuses on urban resilience, regeneration, and the impact of ‘urbicide’ (the destruction of cities). Dr. Mezentsev engaged with the FSU Ukraine Task Force and faculty on how his work — rebuilding Ukrainian cities — offers critical lessons for recovery from any natural disaster. He emphasized the exchange as a “bridge for both sides,” fostering mutual learning and setting the stage for continued institutional collaboration between FSU and KNU.
